Immigrating from India to Canada in 1974, Kris was driven to push beyond the challenges of being a new immigrant in a new country and learning a new language. He earned a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo and co-founded Baylis Medical Company.

Under his leadership, BMC grew from an at-home start-up to over 1,000 employees designing and manufacturing medical devices that would be sold globally. After its 2022 acquisition by Boston Scientific, Kris continues to push boundaries in the MedTech space as the President of Baylis Medical Technologies, spearheading innovations in radiology and neurosurgery.​

Committed to giving back, Kris, Neelam, and their family founded the Shah Family Foundation in 2022, with the goal of enhancing equity and accessibility in education and healthcare globally.

Since its establishment, the Foundation has embarked on a journey to dismantle obstacles and pave pathways towards access in education and healthcare. By investing in pioneering research, state-of-the-art healthcare institutions, and offering support to students through scholarships and healthy meal programs; the Foundation pledges to forge a meaningful and enduring legacy.
