Shah Family Foundation Honoured with CFPDP Corporate Award

The Shah Family Foundation is honoured to receive the CFPDP Corporate Award in recognition of our $1.3 million Pan-Canadian Scholarship Initiative, which expands educational opportunities for students with disabilities across Canada.

A Night of Recognition and Inspiration

The award was presented at the 41st Annual Great Valentine Gala on February 8, 2025, at Toronto’s Fairmont Royal York Hotel. Hosted by Scotiabank, this longstanding event has raised over $35 million for disability initiatives since 1985, celebrating leadership and advocacy in accessibility and inclusion.

Along side the Shah Family Foundation, Primerica Life Insurance Company of Canada was recognized for its leadership in corporate inclusivity. Other honourees included Taylor Lindsay-Noel, recipient of The Honourable David C. Onley Award, and Laura Dottori-Attanasio, CEO of Element Fleet Management, who received The Honourable Vim Kochhar Award. Canada’s Paris 2024 Paralympic Games medalists were also celebrated with the King Clancy Award for their outstanding achievements.

Breaking Barriers Through Education

The $1.3 million Pan-Canadian Scholarship Initiative, established in partnership with CFPDP, will provide long-term financial support to students with disabilities across 13 post-secondary institutions. Named in honour of The Honourable Vim Kochhar, founder of CFPDP and a lifelong advocate for accessibility, this initiative ensures that financial barriers do not limit access to education and opportunity.

With contributions from universities and partners, this initiative is projected to have a $2.82 million nationwide impact, fostering a more inclusive future for students across Canada.

We are grateful to CFPDP for this recognition and for their continued work in advancing accessibility and inclusion.
